Zune HD to be Available from September 15

Microsoft’s attempts at stealing the market from the hands of Apple have largely failed. Microsoft’s competing product, Zune has failed significantly in not only loosening the market grip from Apple’s iPod but also in impressions its reviewers and the tech savvy in general. However, it seems that Microsoft is not yet done with attempts to somehow get back into the scene.

Microsoft is going to launch Zune HD, the much talked about next version of Zune. According to advertisements displayed at various Best Buy stores, Zune HD will be available for sale in the U.S. from September 15th onwards.

According to xbitlabs, a leading technology news website, two different models of the Zune HD will be available–a 16 GB and a larger 32GB version. The 16GB version is expected to cost $220 USD while the larger version will cost $290 UD.

Microsoft’s Zune HD makes use of flash-based memory and will have an in-built HD radio. It will be capable of displaying high-definition video up to resolutions of 1280×720. Additionally, online Zune store services can also be accessed from the player.
