Xbox 360 sales up by 19 percent in Japan

The Xbox 360 is seeing good sales in Japan. Sales statistics reveal that sales for gaming console have increased by as much as 19 percent in the country.

Media Create Co. has reported that the Xbox 360 sold 4,089 units between Jan. 25 and Jan. 31 to rank No. 6 in overall sales. On the other hand, 3,343 units were sold the week prior. Sega Corp.’s End of Eternity sold 27,048 units to rank at No. 8.

Last October, Microsoft launched a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle in Japan.

Earlier in February, Microsoft reported a decline in the division that includes the Xbox 360 business. The Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox 360 business, fell by 12 percent to $2.9 billion in the second quarter.

Microsoft shipped 5.2 million units in the quarter, down 13 percent from six million units one year prior.
