There were reports of a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate selling for $170—way cheaper that the original $319 price tag. Windows 7 Professional is also on sale for $132.50. Upgrade editions of Windows 7 are also available on eBay at prices as low as $119.
While these deals may sound very good, users should be aware that these editions might not have Microsoft’s Certificate of Authenticity label. This means that these will be labeled as pirated copies while downloading updates.
Some copies of Windows 7 on sale at eBay come with retail packaging while others provide just the license keys. These keys might have been acquired from contacts or as part of their jobs. Windows 7 for businesses have already been released and so a large number of business keys have become available on the Internet.
Windows 7 will be available for sale on October 22nd. Many users have scheduled launch parties to commemorate the launch of Windows 7. Hopefully, the copies of Windows 7 for sale on eBay at these low prices won’t dampen the users’ enthusiasm.
