Most Linux distributions come with many web browsers, which you can use to browse the web. You can always install the browser of your choice on Linux, either from source or from binary. It is also possible to run Internet Explorer on Linux using WINE.

Here are some popular browsers that are available on Linux:

Firefox:

The Firefox browser is a superb web browser from the Mozilla project. It is aimed squarely at the dominance of Microsoft Internet Explorer in the browser space. Firefox offers easy-to-use features for dealing cleverly with issues that have wreaked havoc with other Internet browsers such as viruses, spyware and pop ups. Firefox is available by default on most Linux distros.

Epiphany:

This web browser is integrated with the GNOME desktop, allowing you to take advantage of GNOME themes, drag and drop, and translation features. On the inside, Epiphany relies on Mozilla’s rendering engine. Epiphany supports multiple tabs, each containing a different web page as well as multiple windows.

Konqueror:

Although Konqueror is the file manager for the KDE desktop, it can also display web content. Using Konqueror, you can easily go back and forth between web sites and local files and folders.

If you are working from the shell, there are several command-line utilities that allow you to browse the web without a graphical interface. These include the links, w3m, and lynx commands.
