Spyware removal tool for Mac

MacScan is a good spyware removal tool for Mac. MacScan supports Firefox 3 and provides cookie cleaning. MacScan also guards against Mac-specific keyloggers and spyware-related trojans targeting the Mac OS.

The Macintosh computer is notoriously impervious to most viruses, spyware and adware that affects Windows. However, spyware and malware are being developed for the platform as well and this mandates a security solution.

MacScan provides protection from spyware-related threats designed for the Mac platform. It should be noted that MacScan doesn’t provide protection from cross-platform threats such as macro viruses, or any non-spyware-related Mac malware.

MacScan also doesn’t guard against Windows-based malware. However, MacScan does protect against the types of threats that pose the greatest security risks: keyloggers, backdoors, remote access Trojans, and spyware.

Coupled with the additional Firefox 3 protection and the history cleanup features, MacScan v2.6 is competitively priced at $30 for a single user license or $50 for protection on up to three computers.
