Refurbished Laptop Computers

Often you might have observed listings on NewEgg.com or TigerDirect.com selling laptop computers at prices too low to be real. In the product description, you may find the term “refurbished”. What are refurbished laptop computers and how safe are they to buy?

There are two types of refurbished computers. The first type have failed quality check during manufacturing. Instead of recycling the computer, the manufacturer rebuilds it to pass the quality check and sell it at a lower price. The second type is one that has been returned by the customers.

Customers often return products for full refund. Since the product has been opened and used, the manufacturer cannot sell it as a new product and so sells it as refurbished. This type can also include products that have been returned due to faulty components. The manufacturer will replace the faulty component and sell it as refurbished.

One of the main reasons why people purchase refurbished laptop computers is cost. These are way cheaper than new ones but are of almost of the same quality.

Refurbished laptop computers are a great option if you are thinking of buying a laptop. However, there are some points you should keep in mind before purchasing a refurbished laptop:

==> Check if it was sold by the manufacturer or a retailer.
==> What is the price margin when compared to a new laptop?
==> Does it come with warranty and who will handle it?

If you can answer all these questions satisfactorily, you can go ahead and purchase it.
