Nokia has announced the launch of the Nokia N97 Mini–a stripped down version of the N97 in India. Nokia is trying to offer the N97 Mini as a cheaper alternative to the N97. The phone features a smaller screen and lacks some of the features of the N97 such as the navi-pad on the keyboard. When it comes to external appearance, the N97 Mini looks very similar to its cousin.
The phone will be available for sale in the last week of November. It is priced at Rs. 30,939–which is slightly less than the N97. The N97 Mini can be prebooked after November 23rd.
To add some spice to the launch of the phone, Nokia has also announced a contest where users can win a N97 Mini. Four winners will be short listed by a panel of judges and two will win a N97 Mini every week.
Like the Nokia N97, the N97 Mini will support Nokia’s Ovi range of services. Additionally, it also comes with the Lifecasting application from Nokia which allows the user to publish location and status update directly to Facebook from the phone.
