Micromax Funbook Pro: Specs and Review

If you’re thinking of buying a new Android tablet computer within Rs.10,000, the Micromax Funbook Pro is a very good option. It features a 10 inch screen and is good enough for web browsing, social networking and sending/receiving e-mails. However, if you are a power user, the Micromax Funbook Pro may not be a good option. In this post, I will explain about the pros and cons of the Micromax Funbook Pro.

The Micromax Funbook Pro comes with a large screen which is very suitable for web browsing and multimedia. The device supports all popular video formats. The speakers of the device are not very good but are sufficient enough for listening to songs and watching videos.

The touch screen of the device is receptive and works flawlessly. The pinch to zoom works well as well. This is a problem in some of the cheaper tablets available today. Photos and videos render very clearly on the screen but the brightness is a little low. This can be a problem when using the device in a well lit environment.

Coming to the build quality of the tablet, it is quite good. The buttons are responsive and the plastic construction is good enough. This is again a problem with low-cost tablets available in the market today. Some of them have very flaky construction. This is not the case with the Micromax Funbook Pro. In fact, it is one of its plus points.

The main drawback of the Micromax Funbook Pro is the battery life. It lasts only for three hours if you are playing videos. For moderate usage, the battery lasts for 6 to 7 hours. While this is respectable, it could have been better. If you use Wi-Fi, it drains the battery faster.

Sometimes it becomes very slow. This is especially true if you have many applications running it once. However, I wouldn’t call this a major drawback. The volume adjustment button is also upside down. This is a minor glitch but a glitch nevertheless.

The Micromax Funbook Pro also doesn’t come with a USB 2.0 port and 3G SIM slot. It might have been a better option if these features were included as well.

To conclude, the Micromax Funbook Pro is a very good tablet for the price. If you’re looking to buy a low-budget tablet, this is definitely a good option.
