Here is a brief how-to on hacking your iPod. Please note that this is not a hack. This feature was setup by purpose by the manufacturers of the iPod for use by users.

Follow these steps:

Step 1: Switch your iPod on and go to the main menu. Ensure that the iPod is not playing any music file at the moment.

Step 2: Press the middle button and the menu botton together and hold it until the iPod gets shutdown. You may have to press the buttons togther for about 8 seconds.

Step 3: As soon as the screen goes off, press and hold the center button and the rewind button. It will take you to the developer test page.

Here are some tips to follow during the procedure:

>> Don’t do this unless you have to visit the developer test page and make some changes to the settings there.
>> To leave to developer test page and go back to the main iPod menu, go to reset.
>> This doesn’t work with iPod Touch.

Warnings/Precautions:

>> Don’t mess aroud with the settings–It can cause your iPod to get damaged. If something goes wrong, restore your iPod. Take the help of someone who is proficient in these matters.
>> Do not insert a pair of headphones and press “Playback” else it will give out a series of loud beeps.
