Delta Air Lines is being sued for allegedly hacking and obtaining sensitive emails and files and using the material to derail the “Airline Passenger’s Bill of Rights of 2009″. Four versions of the bill are currently pending before Congress.
The suit was was by Kathleen Hanni, executive director of Flyersrights.org on last Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Hanni is seeking a minimum of $11 million in damages. Flyersrights.org is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007.
In a statement, Delta Air Lines stated that, “the allegation that we would hack an individual’s e-mail is absurd.”
