Dell Launches Sub-$700 Vostro 430 Mini Tower

Dell has launched a new Vostro desktop aimed at small businesses. This computer will use Intel’s latest processors–Core i5 and i7. Dell hopes that this mini tower can pack a punch and cater well to business computing needs.

The Dell Vostro 430 desktop comes standard with an Intel Core i5 750 processor running at 2.66 GHz with 8MB L3 cache, 1 GB of DDR3-1333 RAM, 80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive and ATI Radeon HD 4350 videocard with 512 MB onboard memory. It will ship with Windows Vista Home Basic.

The computer can also be made to handle higher computing needs by upgrading to the Intel i7 870 processor running at 2.93 GHz with 8 MB L3 cache. In addition, up to 4 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage and an NVIDIA GeForce GTS240 videocard with 1 GB of memory can also be added to the computer.

The Dell Vostro 430 is priced as $700. When compared to other models in the Vostro line, the 430 is way costlier. Other model in the series are priced in between $300 and $400. However the Vostro 430 is built around Intel’s latest processors and so higher performance worth the price can be expected.
