Currently, no official version of Google talk is available for Windows Mobile. And we do not know for sure if Google will be releasing an official version anytime soon. For this reason, the best option to use all the functionality of Google talk on Windows Mobile would be to use a third-party alternative. There are several third-party software applications that support Google talk.
Google talk is based on a protocol called Jabber/XMPP. For this reason, a chat client that is cable of supporting this protocol can be used to correct to Google talk. One of the best alternatives to Google talk on Windows mobile is Palringo. The software is very good for a mobile chat client.
Another good option is www.fring.com. It supports a number of VoIP clients besides Google talk. Apart from Google talk, it also supports many other network such as Skype, MSN, Yahoo IM, ICQ, AIM, SIP, and social networking websites such as Facebook and twitter. In other words, it is an all-in-one multipurpose client. It also runs on many different mobile platforms.
Pigeon is another good alternative. The software comes with many bells and whistles such as color schemes and skins, downloadable smiley packs, and many additional settings. The software is available in three languages — Russian, German and Czech. The software doesn’t have any special system requirements — it requires only 500 kB of RAM and ROM and any processor faster than 200 MHz. It also comes with built-in spam filter and supports Unicode. It recognizes URLs in messages and opens them directly into the browser of your PDA.
