Apple–the world’s leading computer company, has been sued over claims that its iPad tablets are getting overheated and not functioning properly.
The complaint was filed in federal court in Oakland, California and wants damages. It claims the iPad doesn’t maintain standards up to the customer’s expectations and it “overheats so quickly under common weather conditions.”
The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is particularly marketed as a platform for audio and visual media such as books, periodicals, movies, music, and games, as well as web content. At about 700 grams, its size and weight are between those of most contemporary smartphones and laptop computers. Apple released the iPad in April 2010, and sold 3 million of the devices in 80 days.
Till date, around 3.27 million iPads have been sold. It even outsold the almost decade-old iPod music player in terms of revenue.
Apple has not yet made any comments about the issue to the press. The case is Baltazar v. Apple Inc., 10-03231, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California (Oakland).

Apple has banned That Nguyen, a popular developer from iTunes and the Apple App Store. The move came after it was discovered he had hacked 400 iTunes accounts and used them to increase the sales of his own comic book apps.
Apple has now tightened security in order to prevent similar incidents from happening again. Nguyen was a leading developer and had 42 of the top 50 book apps in the market at one time.
All of his apps have now been removed for violations of the "developer Program License Agreement including fraudulent purchase patterns". Apple suggested that users with hacked accounts check with their banks and change their passwords ASAP.
For improved security, iTunes users may have to enter their credit card security code more often while making purchases.
