Asus has launched the Eee PC 1005PE with the newly arrived Pineview 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor. The Asus Eee PC 1005PE features Intel GMA 3150 graphics and other standard features we can expect from a netbook. The Eee PC 1005PE runs on Windows 7 Starter edition.
The Atom N450 CPU is based on the 45nm process manufacturing technique and comes with integrated graphics and memory on the same die. It comes with 512kb of cache memory and supports 667MHz DDR2 RAM. The Eee PC 1005PE’s Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics provides good video playing and Internet browsing capabilities.
The netbook comes with 1GB DDR2 RAM and 250GB hard disk for storage by default. The netbook also features a single button trackpad and chiclet keyboard layout similar to 1005HA and 1008HA. The 10-inch LED-backlight display offers 1024×600 pixel resolution and is glossy by nature so will tend to catch fingerprints on it.
Other features include a 0.3 megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi (b/g), LAN port, microphone, VGA port, headphone jack, three USB 2.0 port and memory card reader.
Just like 1005HA, the battery life with 6-cell battery can be expected to be more than 6 hours considering the Pineview processor packed.
