Acer Debuts Multitouch Display Laptops

Acer has unveiled the Aspire 5738PB, its first multitouch display laptop. Acer stated that the multitouch display feature will make using computers more easy and productive. In the future, we can expect multitouch laptops to become very common.

The laptop has a 15.6-inch touch-sensitive screen. Users can manipulate images and files using their fingers on the screen. The multitouch input adds a new dimension to computer functionality and offers a much easier and intuitive way to interact with computers.

Hewlett-Packard and Dell already offer multitouch laptops and with this offering Acer has joined the league. Recently, Lenovo also announced a multitouch laptop with a four-finger input functionality.

Acer’s multitouch laptop will be available for sale from October 22nd onwards. The laptop will run on Windows 7, Microsoft’s latest OS which comes with native touchscreen support.

The laptop will be priced at US $799. It will feature a Core 2 Duo T6600 microprocessor, ATI Radeon HD4570 graphics, 4 GB of RAM, and 320 GB of storage. It will approximately weigh 2.79 Kg. Details of the battery life are not yet available.
